The Singer: Ustad Barkat Ali Khan استاد برکت علی خان was born in Kasur قصُور, Punjab پنجاب, British India, in 1905. He received his early training in music from his father, Ustad Ali Bakhsh Khan Kasuri استاد علی بخش خان قصُوری. In 1940s he was considered one of the best singers of thumri, dadra, ghazal, and geet in India. His style was adopted by many later singers. The famous sarangi player, Ustad Barey Ghulam Ali Khan استاد بڑے غلام علی خان ، who moved to India in 1950s, was his elder brother. Ghulam Ali غلام علی is his disciple. Ustad Barkat Khan passed away in Lahore on 19 June 1962. طارق اکبر Tariq Akbar 4 April 2015
