The poet: Not known. If I had to make a guess, I would say قمر جلالوی مرحوم Qamar Jalalwi Marhoom. The style of this ghazal is very similar to his. The Singer: Nadira نادرہ, commonly known as Munni Begum منی بیگم was born in Murshidabad مرشد آباد, West Bengal, India. Her parents moved to East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) in 1950's. She got training in music from Ustad Khwaja Ghulam Mustafa Warsi استاد خواجہ غلام مصطفےٰ وارثی and then studied at a music school. She studied at the PAF (Pakistan Air Force) School in Dhaka, East Pakistan. Due to the Civil War and subsequent Indian invasion of 1971, her family moved to Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. She started her singing career in 1970's. Some of the best loved ghazals sung by her were penned by the late Ustad Qamar Jalalwi. She was awarded the Pride of Performance Award in 2008.
