Taronia's video: 066 Final Fantasy XIII PC Gameplay

@[#066] Final Fantasy XIII (PC) Gameplay
Another playthrough for the Final Fantasy franchise! Missed a video, or wanna keep track of the series? See the playlist linked below: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrP3y1wXB2FeIj4-e15Kl6ZZ4xUvF6iBX My first impressions of this game are as follows: • Graphics are stunning to look at, although limited with the way they can be configured in the game outside of the initial configuration prompt showing at the time of launching the game, with nothing in-game to tinker with these settings. Took a few tries just to get the right 1080p resolution for me, pretty well playing it by ear in regards to any other settings put into place, but so far the framerate is holding up okay with my PC as I see it. • Quiet Audio for the most part, so I've increased the volume about 10 dB louder than normal in editing for it to register on the video while preventing peaking audio & relative balance between intro/outro. • The Camera movement I could see as being nauseating for those who are particularly sensitive to motion sickness, with no complete control option as I'm needing to constantly move it around to an angle which allows the character I am playing as to stay within the frame, while seeing what's going on around them. At first, it appears as though the framerate is choppy, but at a closer glance, the camera's movement in general is slow at first, then gradually speeds up to a point as I am holding the analogue stick. • The gameplay & the way each character controls is on the clunky side for sure, no freedom of player or camera movement during combat phases, and outside of combat, the player's movement in general seems limited eg moving in a 360° motion results in the movement being interrupted. • The ESC key providing a prompt for the player to exit the game is an odd feature. Normally with PC ported Final Fantasy games, there is the ability to go back to the Main Menu, where an additional prompt is available either as a visible option, or something to figure out using random buttons, but as a controller player for this game, I can see how many players wouldn't find this, and would have to result in other methods to force the game to close. • The game did crash prior to me navigating to the first Save Point in the story after I minimised the game's window, routinely restarted my recording software, then open the game back up. This has only been a one-time occurrence at the time of writing up this description, but something to look out for, for sure. Should you want to check out this game for yourself, Steam has it available for $18.50 AUD below: https://store.steampowered.com/app/292120/FINAL_FANTASY_XIII/
