Many of these trackers were used to interacting out in the field. Going out to look, and look, and look – dropping assumptions as quickly as they could – until they could discern a track without bias. And they would strive to bring this curiosity to all of their interactions with the natural world. It’s one thing for trackers to trade thoughts on animal track and sign out in the woods. It’s another matter when those tracks are within themselves and their relationships with one another — that’s the story told in The Inner Tracker.
