When you free up disk space it: a) Remove temporary Internet files. b) Delete downloaded program files, such as Microsoft ActiveX controls and Java applets. c) Empty the Recycle Bin. d) Remove Windows temporary files, such as error reports. e) Delete optional Windows components that you don't use. f) Delete installed programs that you no longer use. g) Remove unused restore points and shadow copies from System Restore. h) Delete system files (Windows 8). To Defrag your computer you need to go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools then defragment. Those are some way to speed up your computer, however if your computer is still kind of slow then you need to delete some programs on your system.
