Team MAST's video: Connecting IR sensor to Raspberry Pi 3 Obstacle detection using IR sensor IR obstacle sensor

@Connecting IR sensor to Raspberry Pi 3 | Obstacle detection using IR sensor | IR obstacle sensor
Video explains how to connect Raspberry pi 3 with IR obstacle sensor using jumping wires. Also I show the live working of IR obstacle sensor which glows led when it detects any obstacle. The three components I used to build up this module for detecting obstacles were 1) Raspberry Pi 2) IR obstacle sensor 3) Jumper wires Raspberry Pi : The micro-controller I used was Raspberry pi 3 model B with 40 GPIO pins structure. The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B is a tiny credit card size computer. Just add a keyboard, mouse, display, power supply, micro SD card with installed Linux Distribution and you'll have a fully fledged computer that can run applications from word processors and spreadsheets to games. I have explained the pins structure using GPIO pin-out diagram where I specify which particular pin is used for which purpose while connecting IR obstacle sensor with Raspberry pi 3. IR obstacle sensor : The IR obstacle sensor I used was Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor. Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module has a pair of infrared transmitting and receiving tubes. When the transmitted light waves are reflected back, the reflected IR waves will be received by the receiver tube. The on-board comparator circuitry does the processing and the green indicator LED comes to life. The module features a 3 wire interface with VCC, GND and an OUTPUT pin on its tail. It works fine with 3.3 to 5 V levels. Upon hindrance/reflection, the output pin gives out a digital signal (a low-level signal). The on-board preset helps to fine tune the range of operation, effective distance range is 2 cm to 80 cm. Jumper wires : A jump wire (also known as jumper wire, or jumper) is an electrical wire, or group of them in a cable, with a connector or pin at each end (or sometimes without them – simply "tinned"), which is normally used to interconnect the components of a breadboard or other prototype or test circuit, internally or with other equipment or components, without soldering. I used 3 female to female jumper wires to connect IR Obstacle Avoidance Sensor with Raspberry Pi 3. Interfacing Raspberry pi 3 with IR sensor - The VCC pin of IR sensor is connected to any Power pin of Raspberry pi (I connected it with 4th pin of raspberry pi). The GND pin of IR sensor is connected to any Ground pin of Raspberry pi (I connected it with 6th pin of raspberry pi). The OUTPUT pin of IR sensor is connected to any GPIO pin of Raspberry pi (I connected it with 8th pin of raspberry pi). After we are done with interfacing, I show you the live working of obstacles detection by putting my hand, screw driver and a sheet of paper in front of sensor. As soon as I place any of these obstacles in front of this sensor, LED glows indicating that obstacle was detected.
