India Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi during his first foreign trip visited Maldives. In the speech, he laid emphasis on historic -- cultural, linguistic and other ties between both the countries. Among other things he made a promise to help Maldives in every possible situation as part of India's neighborhood first policy. His special emphasis was on three things: controlling the spread of terrorism, climate change and a conducive environment in Indo-Pacific.
