Tesla Model 3: A 25,000 Mile Review the truth We did 25,000 miles in about 11 months and there are a lot of pros and cons. *I also forgot to mention we did buy one set of tires for around $1,000. Costs: (0:49) Going over the electric bill 10 months before we had the car and 10 months after, we came to the conclusion our average monthly bill was LOWER with the Tesla only due to credit we got from our electric company. The av. monthly cost before ownership was $178. After the Tesla and CA EV credit ($850) on our bill it av. $150! Now, we compared 9 months of fuel for daily driving in my gas car vs 9 months of charging for the Tesla. We came to the conclusion that the gas car costs on average $175 per month and the Tesla as about only $44 per month. Not including maintenance. It costs us a little under $500 to go 25,000 miles! Pros: (2:53) Environmentally friendly, fun, the latest auto tech that's constantly getting updated, best looks for an EV, it's nice to be in, comfortable on long drives, autopilot is so worth it, controls on the phone, the care gives us great data, NO MAINTENANCE, built-in dash cam comes handy, THE COMMUNITY, can sleep in the back of the car with camper mode (no hotel costs). Cons: (6:26) Long charging times (getting faster though), the range is overstated, expensive to repair, some quality isn't as good as we expected - ex. our taillight got moisture in it now a part of the LED is out, software glitches (can be fixed in an update though), back seats can be uncomfortable for long drives, stained white seats from pants, our car brand new is over $10k less... Tips for Owners: (10:51) get that dashcam recording ASAP, charge at the right hours at home, know and take advantage of the money you can get back for owning an EV, drive and enjoy the car don't baby it so much and go put miles on it, take advantage of the data your car gives you by using apps, know how to keep your battery healthy for the longterm.
