This is one of my favourite recipe. In this video I’m gonna make meen pollichath with Pomfret fish, you can use any kind of fish available. If you are a fish lover definitely you are going to love this recipe. Give this meen pollichathu a try and know yourself the taste of it. Ingredients: For marination: Pomfret/ Avoli - 5 no:s Ginger paste - 1/2 tsp Garlic paste – 1 tsp Coriander powder – 1 tbsp Red chili powder – 1 tbsp Turmeric powder – 1 tsp Garam masala powder - 1 tsp Vinegar – 1 tbsp Salt to taste Curry leaves Coconut oil – to fry For Masala:- Shallots - 3/4 kg Tomato – 2 medium sized Ginger paste - 1 tsp Garlic paste - 1 tbsp Green chili – 8 no:s chopped Curry leaves – 1 sprig Red chili powder – 1 tsp Coriander powder – 1 tsp Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp Tamarind water – 4 tbsp Coconut milk - 1/2 cup Salt to taste Coconut oil – 3 tbsp To Wrap & Serve:- Banana leaf – 1, broad enough to wrap Banana string/ thread to tie Lemon – To sprinkle To make this Kerala Meen Pollichathu in the wilted banana leaf put a thin layer of masala made and on it place the fish. Then cover the fish with masala. Pour 1 tsp of lime juice over it and then wrap the entire thing with the banana leaf and tie it with banana leaf string or thread to hold it together. The distinct smells of the fish and masala will have your mouth watering.
