It is home to 250 bird species, dozens of varieties of plants and a wealth of aquatic life. Al Wathba Wetland Reserve covers less than five square kilometres and is the first area in the Emirate designated for protection by law. This former coastal salt flat is a flourishing sanctuary for wildlife and was reportedly created by accident when a nearby water treatment facility hit capacity and flooded the surrounding land. This wildlife oasis is also home to over 4,000 greater flamingos which flock here in the winter months to breed. In 2018, Al Wathba Wetland Reserve was placed on the IUCN Green List of Protected and Conserved Areas making it the first site in the region to receive this recognition. So, if you love adventure holidays immersed in nature, a visit to the UAE is a must. Here we 2 families had a get together after a very long gap. The main idea was of a BBQ night. Along with it some fun and memorable moments. So without doubt we was able to fix the location for our gettogether- AL WATHBA LAKE, ABU DHABI. This lake is an artificial lake which resembles more like the Al Qudra lake in Dubai. Due to the covid restrictions if anyone is in a sad mode as not able to visit dubai A qudra, then there is the same location here in Abu dhabi too. So dont waste your time by looking for a nice spot for relaxation. You can without doubt go to the lake for enjoying your day. The sunset view in the lake is awesome. Also you have a cycle track near the lake so if you wish for cycling, you can go there. In this video I had incuded all the fum moments of our get together.
