This stage was our second stage after dark on the friday night. This year had teams winching on the friday night which is a change of format. This stage saw teams do a drop into the creek, with a quick winch out the other side. Unfortunately this stage wasn't nice to us or other competitors cars. During torrential rain & at 9pm at night, we hit this stage & tipped the car on its side in the creek. After losing communications & entering the creek to fall over against the bank, we couldnt go forward as the car just dug into the bank. Once the snorkel went under, we turned the car off to preserve the engine & were recovered out of the creek by the tractor & 2 recovery vehicles. Luckily the only thing this stage cost was an airbox filter, a smashed hub & a windscreen. Other teams werent so lucky.
