Prologue at Wild Dog Winch Challenge is always a fun start to the event to shake off the nerves & give the car a run down. I hadn't driven the car since Patrolapart 4x4 Challenge nearly 4mths earlier & Rob hadn't been in the car since then either. This gave us both a chance to get back into the swing of things before the night stages. We timed it well & got started just as the rain began. Starting on the flat, we put the new shocks to work not far from the start box going over the humps on the track. A slight issue with the brakes being soft had us abit slower on the clock than we liked. A rebleed after the stage fixed this issue for the rest of the weekend. The brand new steering damper added back to the GQ before the event, certainly helped in getting through the trees though avoiding the wombat holes & small stumps was the aim this year after we had a less successful Prologue last year with a DNF. This time we were able to finish & get into the finish box well within time & before the storm rolled in.
