The Armenian Report's video: Gyumri Kindergarten in Need of Repairs

"Ciacan" (Rainbow) Kindergarten in Gyumri is asking the government and the people for help in repairing and rebuilding this children’s sanctuary. Many children attend this kindergarten and conditions are extremely poor. Children do not have a playground, no educational toys, and no proper ai r circulation making it very stuffy for teachers and students. Director of Rainbow Kindergarten, Armine Muradyan says, “The kindergarten has been working in this small house for 32 years. We have a lot of problems. We have taught and raised many children here. We love our job very much and we are hoping an organization can help our kindergarten since we have a lot of problems. It is very difficult to maintain sanitary and hygienic conditions because the kindergarten is located in an old small house.” Long time parent Nazik Khachatryan says, “I have three children. Two of them have already graduated from this kindergarten. My third child now attends this kindergarten. The conditions are not that great. We need a lot of help to build a stone-built kindergarten. Children don't have a normal playground so they can not play.” Armine Muradyan says, “Part of the money that the parents paid, we made partial repairs. We repaired the roof and the children’s room. The government helped us with kitchen furniture and beds for children. They helped us as much as possible but the building has not been repaired for 32 years.
