The Backpacking Family's video: Dream Temple Stay Japan With Buddhist Monks Mount Koyasan

I have dreamed of doing something like this for a long time! Staying with monks in a temple, connecting with them, learning about their traditions, beliefs and way of life. Faith is our deepest drive, so this experience was incredible. Mount Koyasan is especially beautiful and home to shingon buddhism. Once we reached mount koyasan we found the temple, explored the mountain, took a traditional onsen with the monks, slept on the floor, attended morning chanting and prayers and had a traditional vegetarian Japanese breakfast with them. The whole experience felt deeply authentic, an incredible way to connect with the culture.
