The Battery Shop's video: Audi Q7 2007 - 2015 - New Battery Install Under Driver Seat

@Audi Q7 (2007 - 2015) - New Battery Install (Under Driver Seat)
Learn how to install a new battery in an Audi Q7 where the battery is under the driver seat. We’ll show you how to replace/change/remove with simple tips and tricks to help get you started! Tool List: -T25 torx bit -12 point 10mm bit (see 2:10) -10mm socket, extension, and socket driver -Flat head screwdriver -Jumper cables & spare 12V battery OR memory saver -This video shows a 2015 Audi Q7 battery replacement. -The Group size H7,H8 and H9 batteries were used during 2007 - 2015. Be sure to check the size of your battery before purchasing a new one. This may be difficult given the location, but will ensure you don't buy the wrong battery and have to return. Most retailers will not be able to tell you exactly which group size battery is in your car UNLESS you can provide them with the PR code of your vehicle. This code designates the specific options on your vehicle and is unique to your car. The code is generally in the spare tire well or glove compartment but can be hard to find and may be missing if someone removed it. Therefore, the best thing to do is to just get at the battery and take a picture of the top of it. Then go to buy a replacement battery with the same group size and technology (standard flooded or AGM). -Some trim levels come with an AGM battery. Always replace an AGM with another AGM. However if your vehicle did not come with an AGM battery, you can upgrade to an AGM battery for up to 2x the life (this will also save you from having to get back under the driver seat for a long time). AGM can be found at most retail outlets. You can learn more about AGM here: https://autobatteries.com/battery-technology/absorbent-glass-mat-agm-battery -Audi moved the location of the battery to the passenger footwell in 2016. Here is our video for this replacement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YB3Zs_jWrW0 -A lot of Audi vehicles require BMS (battery management system) reset after installing a new battery. Resetting the BMS will notify the vehicle that a new battery has been installed. The vehicle will adjust the charging settings to prevent overcharging and provide optimal battery life. If you do not reset the BMS, the vehicle can overcharge the new battery and decrease battery life. -See the end of the video for procedures on resetting the BMS on our 2015 Audi Q7 using an Autel BT608 handheld tester. -Our Autel BT608 prompted us for the following inputs: -Battery serial number: we put in ‘1234567890’ but any 10 digit number will work as long as it is different than the previous number. -Battery part number: This number represents the Group size, technology and Ah capacity of your new battery. Select carefully from the list below. The label will indicate the group size and whether it is AGM or not. -H7 flooded: 000915105DH -H8 flooded: 000915105DK -H8 AGM: 000915105CE -H9 flooded: 000915105DL -H9 AGM: 000915105CF -Battery manufacturer: If you know that the manufacturer of the battery is Clarios (formerly Johnson Controls), then use JCB, VAO, Varta, EMC. Otherwise, try to match your battery manufacturer to the options in your reset tool. -The use of a memory saving procedure will keep the memory alive on the vehicle's computer during the battery replacement procedure. This will prevent you from having to perform “Electric appliance reset” procedures. IT WILL NOT PREVENT YOU FROM HAVING TO RESET YOUR BMS SYSTEM. See the paragraph above for BMS reset information. -Referring to our Memory Saving video will provide you with various memory saving procedures that can be used according to vehicle manufacturer's requirements. https://youtu.be/vSP3ShcaFgQ -If you do not use a memory saving technique, THEN refer to the procedures at the end of the video to perform “Electric appliance resets”. You should also refer to your service/repair manual to determine what resets are required for your specific model/year. -Although this video may provide you with the basic procedures for replacing your battery, we recommend that you check with the vehicle manufacture's step by step procedures found in service/repair manuals for the vehicle you are working on. Always wear safety glasses and gloves when working with or near batteries.
