This is the SECOND part of the video series covering the newly released ICM 1/35 kit Chernobyl . Fire Fighters (AC-40-137A firetruck & 4 figures & diorama base with background). In this video we build the basic kit contents. The Accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant - April 26th 1986 of the reactor of the fourth power unit, located at the city of Pripyat (Ukrainian SSR, now - Ukraine). The reactor was completely destroyed, and a large amount of radioactive substances was thrown into the environment - unprecedented measures were taken to eliminate it. Firefighters from the 2nd and 6th fire departments from the city of Pripyat were the first to arrive to the scene of the accident. At the risk of life, they eliminated the fire of the reactor. subsequently, firefighters took part in the decontamination of buildings and terrain in the exclusion zone around the station. The set includes 295 parts for assembly of AC-40-137A fire truck kit, 37 parts for assembly of 4 fireman figures, 27 parts of accessories and diorama base with background. Decal sheet and instruction sheet are included. AC-40-137A (1986) Soviet Firetruck Zil 131 was the main all-road Soviet Army truck of the 1970s - 80s. Its serial production was launched in 1967. This truck featured high reliability and all-road abilities The basic model was used mainly as personnel transport or 5 t cargo truck. On the basis of the zil-131 Chassis, numerous special machines were built, both for the army and for civilian use. One of them was a fire truck AC-40-137A modification was carried out by the Pryluky fire-fighting equipment plant since 1984. It was distinguished by a tank volume inclreased by 100 litres and control of the fire monitor from the cabin. Trucks of this type are still massively used in fire departments of the countries of the former USSR.
