It is being built in such a way that vehicles can run at a speed of 150 kmph. At the same time, wild animals should not be harmed. About 701 km long and 120 meters wide, part of the highway will open to people in May this year. It will also have a rasta for three abhayaars. These include Tansa (Thane), Katepurna (Akola-Washim border) and Karanja Sohol (Washim). In addition, there will be 35 wildlife focus areas on the way. Out of these, 16 will be in Vidarbha, 16 in North Western Ghats and 3 in Marathwada. It will fall in a route of about 118 km. The construction of highways also greatly affects the lives of wild animals. He can't move around as before. Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation has joined hands with Wildlife Institute of India to address this problem. It aims to allow wild animals to move around the road without scaring or endangering their lives. The expressway is being constructed with five wildlife bridges under the Wild Life Focus Area, three overpasses in Vidarbha and two overpasses at Aurangabad. This is the first time this is happening in India. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will dedicate the Nagpur-Shirdi route of the highway to the public on May 1. It's about 502 km long. The remaining portion will be completed by May this year or next year.
