The river bottom is definitely our best scenic spot on the farm. It’s surrounded by trees on all sides. Its long, crescent shape follows the river to the East and is bordered by a steep hill and woods on the West. It wraps around our three fields on top of the hill. This year we raised popcorn in the bottom. It’s quiet and isolated down here, and it isn’t unusual to find bald eagles cruising up and down the river. They have a few trees with nests near our field.
