Caramelized Onion Hummus Recipe is presented in this video. I will show how to make homemade hummus with a little twist - caramelized onion. You will see how easy it is to make rich and creamy hummus which is a great way to serve as appetizer, snack, veggie dip or spread. I can guarantee that it is way better than store bought ones. Hummus has its roots in Middle Easter cuisine. You can serve humus with warm pita bread, tortilla chips, and fresh veggies or even steamed ones. You can also add it to you salad to replace dressing. There is a complete list of ingredients and instructions to combine those chickpeas with tahini in an ultimate connection. For your convenience I also linked two other hummus recipes below: More hummus recipes: Marinated Roasted Red Pepper Hummus: https://youtu.be/dp7OYICwrzY Hummus Recipe with Tahini, Garlic, Parsley & Sumac: https://youtu.be/SratS7VjK60 INGREDIENTS: 1 can GARBANZO BEANS / CHICKPEAS (rinse under running water) 5 SMALL ONIONS 1 tbsp COOKING OIL 3 tbsp TAHINI 1/4 tsp SALT 1/8 tsp BLACK PEPPER 3 tbsp LEMON JUICE 3 tbsp OLIVE OIL Instructions: 1) Cut onions in thin stripes and add it to the pan with previously added cooking oil. You may add a pinch of salt to prevent burning. Sauté on low heat for about 1 hour. Stir occasionally. Let it cool completely before further processing. 2) Rinse off garbanzo beans / chickpeas under running water and drain it well. Add beans to the blender. Add: tahini, black pepper, salt, lemon juice, olive oil. Blend all those ingredients in the blender or food processor until it reaches completely smooth texture. 3) Add to the basic hummus 3/4 of previously sautéed onion. Combine hummus and onion using spoon or spatula. Don't blend it together. 4) Transfer hummus on the serving plate. Smooth the top surface and add the rest of sautéed onion on the top for decoration purpose. It's Ready!
