The Golden Phoenix's video: Puppy Abandoned At The Airport Had A Heartbreaking Note From His Owner And It ll Make You Cry

A 3-month-old puppy was abandoned over the weekend inside a bag in a bathroom at Las Vegas airport. The Chihuahua mix was discovered at McCarran International Airport in the Las Vegas Valley, along with a heartbreaking handwritten note, explaining why his owner had left him behind. The dog’s owner tells a tale of domestic abuse and the owner’s rush to escape her abuser. As the victim of an abusive boyfriend, she was at the airport to escape him, but couldn’t afford to pay for her dog’s place on the plane. In this moment, she didn’t have a choice but to leave him, no matter how much it broke her heart. The note reads: “Hi! I’m Chewy! My owner was in an abusive relationship and couldn’t afford me to get on the flight. She didn’t want to leave me with all her heart but she has NO other option. My ex-boyfriend kicked my dog when we were fighting and he has a big knot on his head. He probably needs a vet. I love Chewy sooo much – please love and take care of him.” The security guard who found the 3-month-old pup reached out to Connor and Millie's Dog Rescue (CMDR), a local dog rescue. The dog was taken to a local animal hospital, where he was treated for a head and jaw injury and the pup was found to be in good shape, and quickly won hearts everywhere. It wasn’t long before people heard his story and were lining up to adopt him! Many also hope that her circumstances will not keep them from being reunited one day, hopefully soon. But for now, Chewy is living with new owners who love him dearly! Darlene Blair who is with CMDR, knows how hard it must have been for Chewy's former owner to leave him in an airport bathroom with this heartbreaking note. “This one really got to me. You could tell by the way the note was written that the woman was in dire stress and she didn’t want to give him up and she couldn’t take him with her,” Darlene Blair said. She imagines how anxious the owner must have be, worrying about the fate of the young puppy. She wants the owner, whomever and wherever she is, to know that Chewy is OK. “I know it's hard when you're in that situation to trust someone but there are good people out there – and if you're in that situation and you need help to take your dog with you try not to be too afraid to ask for help,” said Blair.
