Flanked by hundreds of sakura trees of differing varieties, the moat is draped in pink by the blossoms during cherry blossom season. In the evening, the trees are illuminated for romantic after-dark strolls and rowboat rides. Cherry blossom season or not, consider renting a rowboat to explore the moat from the water. Rowboat rental is available from March through November, ceasing during the winter months.
