@COOKING BHINDI SABZI WITH MY INDIAN MOTHER IN LAW | MASALA BHINDI RECIPE *Lady Fingers*
Hello and Sat Shri Akal to all our amazing subscribers! You guys have been asking for this one for a while - so here it is: Our first cooking video in our new home!! And our first cooking video in so long also! We are so sorry it’s been so long since we last uploaded one - but we really hope you like this recipe which is listed below if you plan on making it at home. If you do we’d love to know how it turned out and be sure to let us know in the comments if there’s any other recipes you’d like us to try out also. THE RECIPE: Ingredients: (use as much as you’d like of the bhindi/ocra/ladyfingers- in the video we used lots as we were cooking for many people so these quantities will be for a large amount - be sure to half the rest of the ingredients if you are making a smaller quantity) Bhindi/ocra/ladyfingers 12 red onions Black pepper Salt Turmeric Garam masala Red chilli powder 1 lemon (or lemon juice) Green chillies (6 if you like it to be hot, 4 for medium spice, 2 for mild) Oil (whatever oil of your choice) Directions: Firstly, wash ocra and let dry fully before cooking. Then, cut the ends off of the ocra and chop into small pieces and set aside. Then, chop onions into long slices, and green chillies into fine pieces, and set aside together. Next, heat up the pan with around 2 tablespoons of oil, and once the oil is hot add in just the ocra. Fry this while stirring for around 10 minutes or until it starts to look soft. After around 5 minutes of it frying add in 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of salt, and cut the lemon in half and squeeze half of the lemon juice into this and stir well. Keep the other half aside for later incase needed. Once this has been done and is soft, take it off the heat and set aside. Then, In the same or different pan heat up some oil again and once hot add in the onion and chillies. Fry these until the onions are soft and turn a brown colour stirring often. Once this is done, add in 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of salt, 1 teaspoon of turmeric, 1 teaspoon garam masala, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon of red chilli powder, and stir this well until combined. Once this is done, add in the ocra to this mixture on the heat and let simmer for around 10 minutes to absorb the spices well - cover with lid for the remaining few minutes to absorb. If the mixture is looking very sticky add in the other half of the lemon juice to the mixture to take this away. And that’s it! Super simple recipe and so tasty! You can serve it with either roti, rice, or anything you’d like, we just prefer to eat with roti. Remember to like this video if you enjoyed it and subscribe to our channel (as Abbey would say!)
