On May 30th, 2020, a protest against police brutality and several police murders took place in Salt Lake City. While I can't condone all of the actions of the impassioned protesters that day, I support their justified anger and righteous indignation at police abuses against innocent and unarmed black Americans. I fully support every effort towards eliminating police brutality, increasing community oversight of police, demilitarizing the police, and the pursuit of justice for victims of police hate crimes. George Floyd was murdered by four police officers, and all four need to face the harshest punishments that the law can attach to them.
