On July 7, FSB agents arrested Russian space chief advisor and former journalist Ivan Safronov on suspicion of state treason. While the Kremlin denies allegations that Safronov was arrested for his past work as a journalist, Russian journalists are currently holding single picket protests outside the FSB building in Moscow. At least one person, deputy head of the foreign desk at Kommersant Yelena Chernenko, has been detained.
