At this time when the entire nation is shocked by the Hathras incident, On Sunday our team went out on the streets of Guwahati, Assam to know the public opinion for ‘What is the reason behind Rape’. To our surprise we got some very shocking answers. According to a recent NCRB Data, Assam has the highest recorded crime against woman, this also implies that woman here are more empowered and educated since there cases are being reported and they are actually reaching out for help. But there are some elements in the society that adds to its narrow mindedness. We also got to know that education is not a prime factor of rape but the perspective of people how they see things. Few man have give some sensible opinion despite not having basic education. We also got to know why sex and value education is important to erase such negativity from the society.
