The Olympian's video: Crowds Gather at Washington State Capitol to Honor Fallen Heroes

Gathering in the Capitol Rotunda in Olympia, Wa. on Monday. May 29, 2023 attendees at the annual Memorial Day Ceremony join the American Legion Band to honor those who died in military service for the Nation. The remembrance was hosted by the Thurston County Veterans Council with Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland,10th District delivering the keynote address. The program included the traditional playing of the Armed Forces Medley to honor the marches of service and concluded with the Benediction by Chaplain Jaclyn Gennai from VFW Post 5580 and there playing of TAPS. The event was immediately followed by another ceremony at the nearby Washington State Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the Capitol Campus. It was hosted by the Vietnam Vets Legacy Vets MC.
