For more info. and videos, join The Original Emmylou Harris Facebook Group» In 1987 Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt recorded their second TRIO album (Yes they did record another album in 1978 that they didnt release) the Grammy Award album sold millions and was a huge success. To promote the album they released two videos «To know Him Is To Love Him» and «Those Memories» They sang 3 songs at the Johnny Carson show, as well as the Dolly Parton show and in Nashville they did several interviews. One of the songs that they recorded for the album was « Calling My Children Home» they loved the song so much that they decided each to record it on their own solo and did not release it as a TRIO. On one of the interviews they sang the song and showed of the harmony skills. Emmylou decided to record this songsolo in 1991 on her live album «At The Ryman» With The Nash Ramblers and earned her another grammy award. In 1998 she released another Live album called «Spyboy» and did yet a new verion of «Calling My Children Home» In 2016 The TRIO released a collection of their work and it finally included the 1987 version of «Calling My Children Home» the rest is history..
