@Real Time Cryo-Trim™️ DRY/CURED & WET/LIVE’ trim tutorial demonstration w/ The Original Resinator®️
-DRY TRIM When we trim traditionally dried and cured cannabis or hemp flowers, the cannabis is already gone through its natural dry and cure process. Therefore there is no adverse effect when injecting liquid CO2. The CO2 acts as a freezing agent getting the exterior of the leaves just brittle enough to fracture and fall from the flower. We do not shave, shape or contour the bud, because we are not trimming with agitation or friction. The liquid Co2 as a freezing agent manicures the sugar leaf with incredible accuracy. Our Cryo-Trim™️ process tailors to the rise and fall of the structure of the buds without having an adverse effect on the quality, moisture levels, trichomes or Cannabinoid’s. -WET TRIM It’s only when trimming wet uncured/live flowers with The Original Resinator that we need to take in consideration the science that is occurring. By injecting liquid CO2 into the Resinator chamber with live biomass we are effectively lowering the temperature below the freeze point of 32°F. When we do this to live’ biomass we are rupturing the cellular wall of the plant. In a wet/uncured application after this has occurred there will be an adverse effect in the form of oxidation and discoloration of your cannabis or hemp flowers if the cold chain is broken. In order to avoid this from occurring we need to maintain the cold chain once we have dropped below the freeze point of 32°F. We then must place our frozen and trimmed bud’s directly into a pre-frozen freeze dryer for the lyophilization process to effectively achieve a Crop-to-Cure™️ result in 24-36 hours. If the freeze dryer was to reach capacity we could then store the cannabis or hemp into a deep freezer to suspend biomass in it’s frozen state until it is ready for processing. Please take into consideration that it is common to the reach the capacity of a freeze dryer quickly, therefore utilizing a deep freezer becomes a necessary step in order to have a staging area for the cannabis that will not fit into your freeze-dry unit. Although we can absolutely go directly into a Resinator from the garden without deep freezing inflorescence first, we do find that when doing a live/wet trim with the Resinator that a preferred method is to chop the plant first, then buck and big leaf properly before storing in a deep freezer. Then we can pull from the deep freezer at will and go directly into the Resinator in sequence when we are getting ready to go into a pre-frozen freeze dryer. We find that we use much less CO2 and less rotations when trimming the flower buds when pre-frozen and in a WET Cryo-Trim™️ application. In short, freeze drying aka lyophilization is not necessary when Cryo-trimming traditionally “HANG DRIED” (or screen/rack dried) and cured cannabis or hemp flowers. Traditional hang dry or rack dry and cure allowing water to evaporate is a standard practice. Whereas it is essential to utilize a freeze dryer to remove water via sublimation when working with live’ or wet/uncured cannabis or hemp flowers. Resulting in LIVE’ DRIED Crop-to-Cure™️ in 24 hours.
