Hosted by Ristretto Roasters and sponsored by the UW Bothell, MFA, the readers include Jane Wong, Woogee Bae, Dana Middleton, Michael Flatt, and Travis Sharp. - On the event: "How can one say where the place of foreign water begins when the border itself is water?" Yoko Tawada, Where Europe Begins Those of us who live between borders know how strange it is to uphold clear lines of separation—of language, gender, race, nationality, ecology, technology, and more. And we know that while the lines are drawn arbitrarily to divide and control us, to make us easier to corral, this act of drawing leaves marks on our bodies. Our reading attempts to revisit and rework relationships to the many borders we cross, blur, turn away from, or throw stones at, and the multitude ways in which we realign our own boundaries and flows in an attempt to survive in a bordered world.
