Prince wanted no contact with Jannell "Mayte" Garcia for years. He began legal proceeding a few weeks before he passed to prevent Garcia from selling his things. Immediately after Prince passed Garcia announced publication of her "book" that Prince had previously blocked. Garcia then began raising the price of her dance "classes" from $15 to $90 to exploit the grief of Prince supporters & flying around the country to cross promote the book Prince blocked & exploit his fan$ grief thru her "dance" cla$$. Garcia repeatedly attempted to justify her dance class price by claiming the money was going to her "charity" , just as a claimed a percentage of the book was going to her "charity". Garcia is still not licensed to operate a charity in California and therefore cannot legally solicit funds. Garcia is making an "extended book tour" this summer, where she will price gouge as many grieving Prince fams as she possibly can, and get every cent possible while spreading false stories and lies about Prince from her "book". Garcia uses tags such as: to portray a false history and distract from the facts of her actual history and relationship with Prince right up until his passing, again entirely for HER financial benefit. It is beyond SICK that she would use his passing as a platform to expressly go against his wishes for PRIVACY & make money off of it to boot. Especially when one considers that in his final weeks he was engaged in legal proceedings to try to stop Garcia. Garcia continues to prove what she really love$ is MONEY & FAME.
