DESCRIPTION - A 1990 TV commercial for Manawatu's 92.2 2XS FM, featuring breakfast hosts Mike West (real name: Blain Yarrall) and actress Lisa Chappell. Lisa has acted in numerous New Zealand television programmes including Gloss and Shortland Street, but is probably best remembered for playing the role of Claire McLeod in the Australian show McLeod's Daughters. BRIEF STATION HISTORY - Radio 2XS commenced broadcasting on 29 May 1981. The station broadcast on 828 kHz. 2XS was identified on air as Better Music 2XS, 828 2XS and Music 2XS. In October of 1986, 2XS converted from 828 kHz to 92.2 MHz and became known as 92.2XSFM. A fortnight later, the AM frequency was used to launch a second station called Bright 'n Easy 828. This station was later known as Classic Hits 828, Magic 828/98.6 FM and more recently, The Breeze. In January of 2005, 2XS FM was re-branded as 92.2 More FM. 2XS originally operated from studios at 178 Broadway Ave in Palmerston North. It later moved to the Westside Complex on the corner of Rangitikei St and The Square. More recently, More FM (and its sister stations) relocated to new premises at 252 Broadway Ave.
