DESCRIPTION - Recorded in January of 1988, a scoped aircheck of combined programming between Summer Magic 1XX & 93 Splash FM, featuring the late Pete "Jonesy" Jones. This recording was made on 93.0FM at Ohope. BRIEF STATION HISTORY - 93 Splash FM was a short-term station that was operated by Radio Bay Of Plenty Limited. Splash FM went to air on 93.0 MHz in December of 1987. Its temporary broadcast warrant was scheduled to end in March of 1988, however a license extension was later granted and the station remained on air until May of that year. 93 Splash FM operated from a temporary Lockwood studio situated in Ohope. Local programming was limited to 6am-7pm, and outside of these times, Splash FM linked with its sister station One Double X for combined programming. The 93.0 Mhz frequency was later used to relay One Double X into Ohope on a full-time basis.
