The Japanese people consider the city of Toyama, with a population of 300,000 people, the countryside. Pretty insane, but this place is in fact my Japanese girlfriend Tatsui's home city. She grew up there and this my chance to peek into her past a little. As it turns out, you can do quite a few amazing things in the Japanese countryside. Such as eating amazing Sushi, or going to Costco, then also eating the famous specialty of Toyama: Black Ramen. But the highlight of this journey was definitely the festival by the name of Owara Kaze no Bon, which took place in the nearby Yatsuo. This weekend we spent in Toyama was absolutely incredible.
