You can even follow us on: Facebook http://www.facebook.com/TheRoyalLogisticCorps/ Instagram http://www.instagram.com/royallogisticcorps/?hl=en Twitter http://www.twitter.com/rhq_the_rlc?lang=en YouTube http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQoqq-OX7jZ0aKqFx2FVjeQ Top Stories: Logistic Lowdown: Spring Edition With the global outbreak of Covid-19 effecting all aspects of the country, the RLC are stepping up to meet the challenge. 4 Regiment, based near Oxford, have been in support of 101 Logistic Brigade as Military Assistance to Civilian Authorities ramps up. 4 Regt, who have been on standby for UK Operations for the past two years, were ready to assist and immediately saw to the delivery of much needed Personal Protective Equipment to the National Health Service. They will be continuing their efforts for the foreseeable future. Over the Christmas period, 47 Air Despatch parachuted, over a ten-day period, 77 containers weighing 63.1 Tonnes of essential supplies to the British Antarctic Survey forward base at Sky Blu. The supplies included petrol, aviation fuel, rations and aircraft spares. https://www.facebook.com/royalairforce/videos/222704832098267/ February saw soldiers from 9 Regiment travel to Cyprus where they swapped their logistic competences for honing their soldiering skills. It has enabled the regiment to be taken out of their comfort zones and improve their soldiering capabilities for future operations. February also saw 1 Squadron, 10 Queens Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment celebrated 150 proud years of service in the British Army. The celebrations were held at their original home of Woolwich barracks. On this occasion the squadron had veterans, Officers and Soldiers to celebrate with a demonstration of a Gurkha Kukri display, traditional pipes and drums and a traditional Mauri dance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQfsb2Y7Rp0 The beginning of March saw a team of soldiers from 3 Regiment RLC, based in Abingdon, pulling together to raise money for two charities whilst attempting a Guinness World Record. The grounds of the historic Blenheim Palace was the venue as they pulled a 4,000 pound Volkswagen Transporter an amazing 76.028Km over 12 hours and entered the Guinness Book of Records for their efforts. They also raised £10,000 for the mental health charity ‘Mind’ as well as the Army Benevolent Fund. https://www.facebook.com/174114329275806/videos/2699315856784781/ Finally the end of 2019 saw soldiers from the RLC further themselves by completing bachelors degrees with the University of Northumbria through distance learning.This was supported by the RLC Association Trust, who supported the soldiers financially over the course of their studies.
