Anyone who has experienced or is currently going through this process of grief feels anything but "blessed". This promise of comfort is what gives us hope and is why we can call ourselves “blessed”. One of the Holy Spirit’s names is The Comforter (John 14:26). We are blessed in the midst of mourning and loss because we have the strength and comfort of the Holy Spirit. Some people go through grief and loss without The Comforter. Their journey through this valley of despair is a dark and lonely one. We do not walk through this valley alone however, for the Holy Spirit is with us (Psalm 23:4).
