You do not need to fight in this war because the battle belongs to the Lord. “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s…You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord who is with you” (2 Chronicles 20:15,17 NKJV). In this bible verse, God told King Jehoshaphat to position themselves and stand still. Standing still when you feel confronted with a spiritual war can be the most difficult part of the battle. We feel the urge to challenge, fight our own battles and bring justice. God however tells us in 2 Chronicles 20:15, the battle we are facing is not actually our own; it is God’s. When we know the battle is His, our tactics change. Instead of coming from a place of desperation and crying to God for breakthrough; we can “stand still”, unafraid and confident that if the battle is His, then His battle plan is far greater than ours. Maybe you feel like King Jehoshaphat at the moment in a situation where you feel you cannot win. King Jehoshaphat cried out to God and said, “we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You” (2 Chronicles 20:12 NKJV). Just like King Jehoshaphat, begin to fix your eyes upon God. He holds the battle plans for your situation. Trust in the Lord of Hosts knowing that greater is He who is in you than He who is in the world (1 John 4:4) and greater are those who are for you than those who are against you. Today, take some time to “stand still and see the salvation of the Lord who is with you”.
