Beginning January 1st, 2024, owners of LLCs, Corporations, Trusts, and other business types will now have to disclose who their owners are - with photo I.D. 😲 Did someone say privacy? I hope not… because that is no more. This is all thanks to the H.R. 2513, better known as The Corporate Transparency Act. As stated in the text, the Corporate Transparency Act was enacted to help the U.S. Government fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism. However, as with many things, this will have a massive impact on everyday, law-abiding businesses. The requirements are simple enough, and the penalties are steep.
