The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort's Did'ja Know Series! Did'ja Know Shawnee Inn has a Farm? Today we are out here on Shawnee’s Island . Established in 1911, this historic course is well known for hosting the 1938 PGA Championship, celebrated for its beautiful layout and made famous by the well known celebrities like Jackie Gleason, Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead which stayed and played here.But Did’ja know that the Shawnee Island is also home to a farm? One of the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort’s guiding principles is sustainability. Establishing programs that help to retain the beautiful, natural environment where we are located. What better way to reduce our carbon footprint then by establishing a farm to supply produce to our restaurants. We started the farm in 2010, and today, Shawnee’s farm has grown to 25,000 square feet. Fresh produce from our farm is served in The Gem and Keystone Brew Pub, The River Room, The ShawneeCraft Brewing Company, and even in some of the products we use in our Spa and Salon.
