Bugis today is a brightly lit, hustling and bustling part of Singapore town. Filled with temples, mosques, churches, street stalls and markets, the area is multi-religious, multi- ethnic and always full of energy. Performed at the Esplanade Concert Hall on 12 Aug 2016 in a concert titled 'Stories from an Island City'. Their unique brand of music has brought them to cities such as Shanghai, Seoul, Manila, Hong Kong, and Kuala Lumpur, where they presented Singaporean music to an international audience and received unanimous acclaim. As a collective of music educators, scholars and award-winning instrumentalists, the ensemble constantly looks to break new ground with familiar yet refreshing and accessible yet enigmatic music.
