Last week they interviewed me live on TV. They wanted to know this. Why people from around the world choose Toronto as their immigration destination? If you didn't know already, I am from Greece and I immigrated to Toronto with my family. The night before the interview I could not sleep. I wanted to do the question justice but It was not just about stats. This was personal. It brought back memories of how it was for my family. My wife and I worried. If the kids would adjust. If the school will be good enough. If we chose the right neighborhood. If we would be able to do the work we wanted. I am an optimist and I believed it will work out. But it took effort and hard work. Now, Nectaria and I help people that have grown up here and immigrants with finding a home or their next investment. Every day we get inspired to learn people's stories and become part of their journey. In the end, I came up with this: Moving here is like walking into a room. There is a blank canvas on a tripod. Next to it, you have all the colors and brushes you need. But what you will create is up to you. Fun fact: I overplayed this in my head. The interview was shorter than expected. And it was fun!
