Very awesome music here! -Stages 2 and 4 (the bases) are the different type of stages-those can be tricky. Some upbeat music though! -Stage 3/Waterfall-be on the move! There's a "B" powerup. The boss can be tricky though, with the arms throwing projectiles -Stage 5-snow field, tough to see enemy patterns at times! They can fire bullets out of nowhere it seems. And also, the boss, who likes like Bane from The Road Warrior, is random at times. Sometimes he's super easy and doesn't throw any of those spikes, but then at other playthroughs, he can throw not 2, but 3 spike things at a time! Stage 6-energy zone. Watch out for the flames! The B is optional here, but a bit risky to get. In a NDR, this stage can be random depending if you get the B or not. Stage 7-Hanger. Timed sections! Get the B and run Forrest run! The B is easier in this level. Stage 8-Alien Lair: 1986 Aliens homage hype! Bill and Lance, are names taken from the 1986 movie. Also, the bosses design: face huggers, and alien head, scream Aliens! (no pun intended) The boss with the heart is very tricky I admit, and probably the toughest thing about doing the NDR, as it's the very last thing in the game! Meaning, you have to reset the game if you die there! lol Some background of Contra This is where the iconic Contra series started! (1988 NES) Well, technically the Arcade. Some other notable Contra games, are Contra 3: Alien Wars, which is a difficult SNES game, and the Sega Genesis, "Contra Hard Corps" There was actually another Contra game on the NES, Super C, which is on the nes mini, but this Contra-the very first one, is not!
