Times Of India's video: 18-year-old Hasandeep Kaur from Punjab village draws attention for singing western songs

An 18-year-old girl from a village in Punjab Hasandeep Kaur has drawn attention for singing many famous songs by widely acclaimed and mostly western artists. Be it English singer Dua Lipa's 'No lie', 'Love me like you do' by Ellie Goulding or Italian protest ditty, 'Bella Ciao', 'August diaries' by Dharia, Spanish 'Despacito' by Luis Fonsi - most teenagers from rural backgrounds might not have even heard these songs, let alone sung them. These Spanish, Italian and English songs are sung perfectly by Hasandeep Kaur. Kaur is studying for a Bachelor's degree at Muktsar. She sings Spanish and English songs with equal ease in a melodious voice and with expressions. She learned them from YouTube. With just the help of a few words, she looks for the complete song on Youtube, without knowing even the name of the singer. Next, she puts the song through Google translator for Punjabi, watches the video,and copies the minutest action of the singer.
