Another amazing waterfall in the Waitakere range is the Fairy falls. Unlike the Karekare (which is just 5-10minutes away from the parking lot), Fairy falls is a 40-50minute walk, but is totally worth it. On the way to the bottom of the waterfall, you will encounter several pool and mini waterfall which is a part of the head of the main Fairy falls. And you can swim too. Make sure to check it out when in Auckland.
