My studio has been through testing mode and is certified 'Ready' for my new studio business. I have been posting some examples of my test projects over the past few weeks which range from raw direct transfers in high quality to finished remastered works. This particular video is a very good example of the culmination of putting together this studio. I think what will be offered from my Mastering Production company is unique and helps fill a void that currently exists in the industry of audio post production of legacy recordings. Stay tuned. Great things await! A personal note about this restoration: This is a perfect example of crafting a sound that I believe is true to the original intent but also a sound that I internalized in my youth after listening intently to the playback many, many times and that sound still lives within me to this day. What you hear in my digital Master, therefore, is a professional high-fidelity engineered sound coupled with a 'minds ear' sound interpretation of the audio material to its fullest extent. The sound of all of my digital masters are both proper and organic in a very natural way and the audio of each has been remastered for today's listening platforms and environments. Also, I am happy to announce that the studio has been engineered to re-produce from any legacy audio material sourced from either master tape or specially designated 1st edition vinyl pressings, a professional, high-fidelity engineered sound with a very unique and dynamic blend of analog and digital that I believe is a refreshing sound interpretation and breathes new life into our treasured legacy recordings. I have posted two or three other 'high-fidelity engineered' sound sample videos as I am calling them just recently and with more on the way. The studio business is set to open its doors in early 2021 and I look forward to 'master-mining' our treasure troves of legacy recordings and to present them the way they were meant to be heard in today's environment - my high-fidelity engineered way. Thanks for listening! *1st Pass - Perhaps a lesser source audio was used to create the Master. If and when an approved audio analog source that meets the stringent qualities to deem it a better source for the Master, a 2nd Pass will be issued. Please note that my 'Remasters' are professionally done and use clean, original 1st Edition vinyl pressings as the source audio material. I strive for replicating the authenticity of the sound as closely as possible and as originally intended and mastered by the cutting engineer for vinyl. It is not meant to compete with and/or 'achieve a better sound' than the studio version but rather to present an 'alternative listen' using a source that is known for perfectly replicating the sound attributes of the master tape. If the master tape contains audio distortions and/or the cutting engineer introduced audio distortions when mastering for vinyl, then my 'Remasters' will also many times exhibit those 'flaws' particularly if restoration is deemed to be detrimental to the original intent. A perfect example, therefore, is my Remaster of "How Can I Leave Her" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHQ1M...). You will hear some high frequency distortions at times with the vocals that is known to be inherent in the original master for vinyl. I chose not to notch filter these in order to preserve the original vocals as they were cut by the engineer. These are discretionary decisions that I make at times as I work to replicate as perfectly as possible the fullness of the sound and its fullest potential for impact as found in the record groove.
