The Woodgineer's video: Woodturning a Razor from Purple Heart Wood

I made this sexy purple heart mach 3 razor for a friend of mine and this is the build video. I really struggled with this one on the drilling! Purple heart is an oily and tough wood and I just didn't take my time or take the bit out enough to clear the chips plus I was using a fairly poor quality bit. I've since replaced my drill bit with really nice Fisch drill bit (https://amzn.to/2Yw2Cc3) and loving the results! It also took a fair amount of effort to get the purple to come out in the wood as it was brown after cutting it. I tried a number of techniques including a blowtorch, UV lamp and acetone but none worked as well as simple candlelight! If there is interest I might do a separate video on working with purple heart as I've learned a lot and want to keep on using this amazing wood.
