When I reached Fort William, I had dinner in Wetherspoons then starting climbing Ben Nevis and set up camp in the dark at Lochan meall an t-suidhe 1870 feet 570 metres. The next morning, I left everything at the loch and set off for Càrn Mòr Dearg 4006 feet 1,221 metres and Ben Nevis 4411 feet 1345 metres; carrying only a small rucksack with enough food and water for the day. I traversed the Càrn Mòr Dearg Arête without much difficultly and crowned my achievement by reaching the Ben Nevis summit at 4:32 pm BST on 11th May 2017.
