This song is a classic. This song was written early on by Richard Patrick after leaving Nine Inch Nails(Circa '90-91 perhaps?). Richard's brother, Robert who played the T-1000 in Terminator 2(1991), actually suggested James Cameron use this particular song in T2 before the band ever signed to a label. But Cameron instead used a song by Guns N' Roses(GnR was signed to a Universal label, and T2 was a Universal film). Bad move, in my personal opinion. Anyways, the song was eventually released on Filter's Short Bus album in 1995, soon after Kurt Cobain's passing, which gave birth to the myth that the song was written about Cobain. Whereas the song actually was written around the time of Nirvana's first major album release. There's your useless tidbit of trivia for the day. =) Anyways... The bass is pretty much entirely 16th notes with little to no variation at all. So once you've got the timing down, it's pretty straightforward. You may experience some fatigue around the time of the outro. If you do, rest before attempting again. Thanks for watching.
