@Celebrating Juneteenth Freedom's Legacy: Honoring Our Ancestors
On Wednesday, June 19, 2019 the Bryan-College Station community-wide celebration of Juneteenth started with the annual Freedom Walk and an interactive storytelling program at the Bush Center. Oba William King, Master Storyteller, led our program by focusing on the value of lives of service as shown in our ancestoral leaders. The program also reflected the President and Mrs. Bush's lives of service offering tangible understanding of local/national leaders whose legacies continue. Oba presented authentic and inspirational stories as well as interactive music and songs drawing upon African traditions.  The Freedom Walk to the Bush Library and Museum began at the Lincoln Recreation Center at 9:00 a.m. The storytelling program took place from 10:30-11:30 a.m at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center.
