In todays video we get some great January weather and I decide it is time to fly my new DJI Mini 2 for the first time outside. I have never flown a drone in my life so if you want to know what it is like from a real newbie then you can check out this video. The DJI mini 2 is classified as a micro drone in Canada as it has a weight of less then 249g. That means it is legal to fly in most places. I worked hard to make sure I am not a hazard to anyone or any aircraft. My first real flight was far away from the city and the flight path of aircraft North West of Calgary. However the issue is everything sort of looks the same so after checking the regulations again I decide to head down to the frozen Bow River in Calgary and fly above the ice, again far away from people just to be safe, although the micro drone category puts this drone into an almost unlimited ability to fly. The primary rule that I choose to follow is not to be a hazard. I hope you enjoy this video. This is really what it is like to fly a dji drone for the very first time.
