TheJadedFilmMaker's video: HLG IN ADOBE PREMIERE PRO 2022 - REVISITED - The complete practical guide

@HLG IN ADOBE PREMIERE PRO 2022 - REVISITED - The complete practical guide.
Hi guys, I shot some test HLG footage on my new Sony a7iv to see how the latest Adobe Premiere Pro 2022 handles HLG footage in both a HLG timeline and also a normal Rec 709 timeline. These findings will also be relevant to the a7siii , as the HLG is the same for both cameras , at least in terms of how Adobe interprets it. Excuse the windy first few seconds, I really don't like filming in my little room, I like to get outside whenever possible. What I didn't discuss in the beginning of the video is WHY I used to like shooting in HLG. And that is: it just had nice rich colours! That's it! The gamma curve was good too, just what I kind of expected really, especially being used to filming heaps in cine 2. When I saw my test shots in HLG especially on my old S1H it really reminded me of the rich colours that pop on 90's and 2000's films, shot on film! So that started me off trying to replicate that. I was doing tests on my S1H on v-log obviously but also for faster turn around I was shooting heaps on HLG (it was called 'like HLG' for some reason) But to be honest, I just gravitated back towards shooting in Cine 2 for my weddings and events. SO, it's been a while. But here we are! Hope you find my tests and explanations useful. Happy shooting! 🤙 ---- Contents of video ------ 00:00 - Intro 00:59 - HLG Timeline 04:56 - REC709 Timeline 06:32 - Export vs Project view (washed out quicktime problem) 09:47 - Quick XAVS S vs XAVC HS test 10:28 - Lumetri & Scopes 11:57 - Last Comments on HLG2 and HLG3 ===================== Also, here is the luts from the last video. I noticed in my research that no one online is really offering free transformation luts of rec709 to hlg and hlg to rec709. So here they are if you need them. Apply them as a creative lut. (yes i know they are transforms , but just try it... and dial it in as needed) Here is the download link for the two LUTs : HLG_to_rec709_PW.cube : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mEUbVlca2nbC5RMQPAYdubwTgMt7W5zX/view?usp=sharing Rec709_to_HLG_PW.cube : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oEFYLYMhAXovlVoSa4J0cKu8fNnASPkv/view?usp=sharing ============= Gear used: Sony a7 IV Samyang 18mm f2.8 Tiffen Black Satin 1 K&F Nd2-32 Variable ND Filter Music : Artlist.io
